ST Electronics in good stead to land Malaysian MRT job

By Pauline Ng

KUALA LUMPUR - Singapore Technologies Electronics Ltd stands a good chance of securing one of the MRT packages up for grabs in Malaysia.

The integrated engineering group is one of only two firms to submit a bid to land the platform screen doors (PSD) package worth RM32 million (S$12.8 million). A competing one was put in by France's Faively Transport Far East Ltd.

Two other pre-qualified firms - Japan's Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd and Korea's SPS Consortium - did not make a submission, according to a press release by MRT Corp last week.
