New chairperson for S'pore Business Federation

The Ministry of Trade and Industry has appointed a new chairperson to head the Board of Trustees for the Singapore Business Federation (SBF).

Ms Fang Ai Lian, who is also the chairman of Great Eastern Holdings, will take over from current chairman Mr Sat Pal Khattar.

Her three-year term appointment will take effect on May 1.

Ms Fang has served for seven years as an active member of the SBF Board and has led various financial and community organisation.

She is currently the chairman of the Charity Council and is also a board member at Overseas-Chinese Banking Corporation, SingTel, MediaCorp, Metro Holdings, and Banyan Tree Holdings.

Outgoing chairman Mr Sat, who is also the chairman of Khattar Holdings Group, has been the chairman of the SBF Board since April 2005.

Existing board member, Mrs Theresa Foo-Yo Mie Yoen, chairman of The Esplanade, has been re-appointed, while Mr Lucien Wong, Managing Partner of Allen & Gledhill LLP, will be newly appointed as a board member.
