Singapore to release advance Q2 GDP data on July 13

SINGAPORE - Singapore will release advance GDP estimates for the second quarter of 2012 at 8am local time (0000 GMT) on July 13, the Ministry of Trade and Industry said on Friday.

Bank of America Merrill Lynch said the second quarter flash estimates for the Southeast Asian city-state's gross domestic product will likely show a mild quarter-on-quarter contraction of 1.1 per cent on a seasonally adjusted and annualised basis.

From a year ago, Singapore's economy likely expanded by 1.8 per cent in the April-June period, Merrill Lynch said.

The Singapore economy expanded by an annualised and seasonally adjusted 10 per cent quarter-on-quarter and by 1.6 per cent year-on-year in the first three months of 2012, and the government has forecast growth of 1-3 per cent for the full year.
