IS THE abductor and killer of eight-year-old Nurin Jazlin Jasmin about to strike again and looking for his next victim at the same area?
Harian Metro front-paged a story of a man, who was driving a white van following an 11-year-old boy in Section 1, Wangsa Maju, trying to cajole him to get into van on Friday.
The newspaper pointed out that a witness to the Nurin Jazlin abduction on Aug 20 said she was taken into a white van and it seemed to be the same model as that used on Friday.
Nurin Jazlin was also from Wangsa Maju. She was found dead weeks after her abduction when body was discovered in a sports bag.
In Friday's incident, 11-year-old Hafiz was on his way back home at 9pm after attending a Hari Raya open house when a man in a white van accosted him on the pretext of asking for directions.
Hafiz's mother, Hamidah, told Harian Metro that when her son ignored the man and tried to hurry away, the man persisted and followed him.
Hamidah who was watching her son from the kitchen window realised something was wrong when she saw her son looking frightened and walking hurriedly towards their house and a man following closely behind.
At that moment, Hamidah said she screamed for help and ran to grab her son who was crying in fear. The man in the van then fled.
She said her son had been traumatised by the incident.
She has filed a police report at the Wangsa Maju police station.
