BEIJING - A CHINESE college has employed a 19-year-old fashion model as a guest professor to give lectures to students hoping for a life on the catwalk, state press reported on Monday.

Mo Wandan, who has appeared in Chinese editions of magazines such as Elle and Vogue, said she would be delighted to share her career experience with students at the Tianjin Polytechnic University in north China, Xinhua said.

She will give two lectures each semester at the college's art and fashion design school, its vice president, Jiang Xiuming, said.

'We value Mo's leading role in the fashion world and hope that she can bring her experience to our art and fashion design school,' Mr Jiang added.

One student, Guo Xinyang, said: 'We are looking forward to her guidance and we want to be a famous model like her.'

Mo, who won the 2004 China Model Star Contest, has also appeared on the catwalk for Dior, Armani and Krizia, according to Xinhua. -- AFP
