Nanyang Siang Pau reported that a man in Wuxi, China, had ignored a drowning boy's screams for help and walked off, not knowing that it was his son.
The father's apathy resulted in the death of his six-year-old son.
Later, he filed a lawsuit against the neighbourhood committee over the boy's death, demanding a compensation of 470,000 yuan (S$96,841).
His suit was rejected by the court, which also listed it in the 2011 Top 10 Typical Example Cases of Wuxi Court.
