Two car break-ins on Sunday
Mon, Feb 18, 2008
The Straits Times

TWO drivers lost cash and valuables in two separate thefts from their cars on Sunday.

At about 1.40pm, a man in his 30s parked his car at an open-air carpark near Block 513, Tampines Central before going to the post office.

When he returned 10 minutes later, he found the front passenger window smashed.

The bag which he had left on the front passenger was gone. It contained a $1,500 and $600 worth of laptop accessories.

On Sunday night, a manager parked his car along the road at Geylang Lorong 8 before heading to a mobile phone shop nearby.

As he would not be gone from his car for long, he did not lock the vehicle.

But when he returned five minutes later at 10.30 pm, he found a bag which he had placed on the front passenger seat missing.

It contained $3,000 in Singapore dollars and close to $8,500 in foreign currency.

He also lost two handphones which were in the bag.
