KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA: Two friends were attacked and slashed to death by a group of six men armed with parangs in Rawang.

The victims, in their 20s, were having a drink at a stall with three other friends at 1.30am yesterday.

Gombak Acting OCPD Supt Abdul Karim Abu Hassan said that one of the suspects, who came in a van, suddenly rushed towards the victims and started slashing one of them with a parang.

"The second victim tried to intervene but he was also slashed,'' he said, adding that the three other friends managed to run away.
