A MAN who circulated obscene videos and sent naked photographs of himself to a 16-year-old student was jailed for six weeks on Tuesday.
Quek Chye Huat, 42, a former sales manager, admitted to two charges each of circulating the obscene video and insulting the modesty of the victim between February and April 18 last year.
A magistrate's court heard that the victim came to know Quek through MSN Messenger in February and had been chatting for about three months.
The victim felt insulted when he sent her the lewd videos and naked images through e-mail. Her mother made a police report on April 18.
Eight other charges were taken into consideration.
District Judge Wong Peck, who noted the victim was 16 and vulnerable, said a jail term was warranted.
Quek could have been jailed for up to three months or fined, or both, for circulating the obscene video. For insulting modesty, the maximum penalty is a jail term of up to one year or fine, or both.
