KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia: A 62-year-old Singaporean was found dead in his rented room in a building in Jalan Berangan here.

Police found the body at 10am after receiving a report from the landlord about a stench emanating from the room of the deceased on the second floor.

Dang Wangi OCPD Asst Comm Zulkarnain Abdul Rahman said the deceased, who is believed to be a tour guide, had rented the room one-and-a-half years ago, and was believed to have been dead for five days.

"The deceased is believed to have died from natural causes."

The body has been sent to Kuala Lumpur General Hospital to determine the cause of death.
