Armed robbery in Red Hill

A WOMAN, in her 50s, was robbed of her $1,200 necklace as she was walking along Red Hill Lane near Block 81 at about 7am on Thursday.

The suspect approached her from behind a pillar and threatened her with a 15 cm-screwdriver, yelling 'robbery' in Hokkien.

He then pushed the victim who fell to the floor and during the struggle, snatched her gold necklace worth $1,200.

The suspect fled on a bicycle.

Police are appealing for witnesses. The suspect is described as a plump Chinese man in his 40s.

He was wearing a pair of black spectacles and had on a blue tee-shirt with white sleeves.
