BUKIT MERTAJAM: A beer and soft drinks distributor lost S$4,338 (RM10,000) after two men allegedly cast a spell on his daughter and a nephew for about 30 minutes.

In the 12.30pm incident on Saturday, two smartly dressed men arrived in a Proton Perdana on the pretext of buying beer.

Poh Chin Chou said the men asked for a quotation for beer from his nephew and 23-year-old daughter.

They changed their minds and decided to buy a crate of non-alcoholic canned drinks instead. One of the men handed RM100 to Poh's daughter and followed her to collect the change while the other suspect was chatting with the nephew.

The victims claimed that they were "charmed" and blacked out for half-an-hour and only regained consciousness when Poh returned.

Upon checking, they found that RM10,000 cash, which was kept in the office for staff salaries, was missing.

It is learnt that CCTV recordings of the suspects in the premises would be handed to the police.
