A MALAYSIAN man was jailed for four weeks on Wednesday for taking a video footage of a woman's panties on an escalator.

Chang Yew Kuan, 24, pleaded guilty to intruding into the privacy of the 20-year-old woman by using his camera phone to film her upskirt at the Bedok MRT station underpass at New Upper Changi Road on Jan 26.

A magistrate's court heard that the woman was taking the escalator up at about 11pm that day when Chang stood behind her and discreetly placed his mobile phone directly under her skirt.

Chang could have been jailed for up to one year and/or fined for intending to insult the modesty of the woman.
