The Straits Times

A WOMAN in her late 20s was forced to withdraw $1,000 from an ATM on Jalan Sultan by a man armed with a sharp object.

Moments earlier, she had stopped at the ATM, near Keypoint Building, at 1.30 am on Tuesday to draw some money.

As she was leaving, a man came up and placed a sharp object at her waist. After forcing her to withdraw $1,000 from the ATM, he snatched her handbag containing $60 cash and a $150 handphone, and fled.

The man has a fair complexion and is about 1.8m in height.

He was wearing a dark T-shirt and bermudas, as well as a cap and spectacles.

The Police appeal for eyewitnesses to contact them at 1800-255-0000.
