A 36-YEAR-OLD man was banned from driving for life on Tuesday for driving on three different occasions while he was under a 20-year driving ban.
Tan Teck Lee, unemployed, was given a total jail sentence of 31/2 years after admitting to 14 charges such as forgery, theft and traffic-related offences.
Assistant Public Prosecutor Ram Vishal Tiwary told a district court that he was working as an executive chef at Ten-Jyaku at Millenia Walk, Raffles Boulevard, when he stole company cheques on Aug 16 last year.
He then forged the signature of his boss on those cheques for various amounts on Aug 16 and 17 last year.
The court also heard that he drove twice last Aug 28 along Upper Aljunied Road and Ubi Road 1 when he was under a 20-year disqualification by a court.
He drove again on Dec 7 along River Valley Road while under the ban.
He also admitted to the charges of giving gave false information to the police, using the forged driving licence and identity card of one Ong Teng Chye.
Nineteen other charges were taken into consideration.
