Robber beats up elderly woman

A WOMAN in her mid 70s was punched and kicked by a robber at Block 34, Whampoa West on Monday.

While on her way home with her granddaughter, the victim entered the lift with a man. When the lift stopped at the fourth floor, he grabbed her $200 gold chain and fled.

When the woman shouted for help, the robber turned back, punched her on the left side of her face and kicked her in the body before leaving. She sustained minor injuries.

The man is described as being 1.55m tall, slim-built and in his 40s. He had short black hair and was dressed in a blue t-shirt and trousers.
