Woman accused of causing biker's death

>A WOMAN motorist was charged in court on Wednesday with causing the death of a motorcyclist at a road junction.

Tay Lay Hong, 45, is said to have negligently caused the death of Mr Liu Xia Wei, 21, by failing to give way to him when making a right turn from Bukit Batok East Avenue 2 into Avenue 6 at 9.54am on Sept 14 last year.

Mr Liu died the following day. Bail of $8,000 was set. Tay's passport was impounded and her case will be mentioned on July 2. If convicted, she faces a jail term of up to two years or a fine or both.
