Thu, Jun 19, 2008
The Straits Times

A flat in Geylang Bahru was broken into on Wednesday evening after the owner left her keys on a shoerack inside the unit and left without securing the main door.

She returned 15 minutes later to find the main gate open, the keys gone and several items including a laptop and a gold necklace worth more than $4,000 missing.

Another break-in into a car took place at a Rochor Road carpark, also on the same night.

The owner had returned to his car to find the rear right window smashed and his brown bag which he had left on the rear seat gone. The bag contained items which included a laptop valued at $2,300 and up to $1,000 in cash.
