Murder accused charged with suicide bid

THE Toa Payoh murder case woman was charged on Friday with trying to kill herself.

Kang Kah Li, 36, who has been accused of murdering her 12-year-old son Tan Eu-Jin between May 15 and 16, is alleged to have slit her right wrist with a cutter in the flat at Lorong 2 Toa Payoh in the early hours of May 16.

The Secondary 1 student at St Gabriel's Secondary School was found lying motionless in his bedroom on May 16 by his grandparents who shared the same Toa Payoh flat.

He died in hospital 40 minutes later.

Kang, represented by Mr Edmond Pereira, will be back in court on Aug 15.
