WU Yen Yen, 25, a Chinese national and a Singapore permanent resident, allegedly caused the death of computer engineer Tan Lead Sane, 34, at their Paya Lebar Crescent house between 5.30am and 7am.
Mr Tan Lead Sane, a computer engineer, was found lying unconscious on the floor of a bedroom in the double-storey bungalow with stab wounds.
His wife, Madam Huang Mei Zhe, 35, who was also slashed in the neck, is now recovering in Tan Tock Seng Hospital.
Wu's husband is Mr Tan Lead Shake, 39, who was given the moniker the 'Slipper Man' after he turned up on Nomination Day at the 1997 General Election wearing slippers.
He lost in Kampong Glam. Four years later, he contested in Ayer Rajah and lost again.
Wu, who was arrested seven hours later at National Library in Victoria Street, was calm during the court proceedings.
The mother of two is remanded for investigation.
She is Mr Tan Leak Shake's second wife, having married him in December 2001.
Her next court appearance is on July 7.
She faces the mandatory death penalty if convicted of murder.
