The Straits Times

MORE than $500 in money, cash cards, and parking coupons were stolen from four separate taxis parked in a multi-storey carpark at Block 185A Jelebu Road in the last two days.

The cabbie who reported the incident had locked his vehicle at 8.30pm last Sunday, and returned at 6am on Monday to find the items missing from his taxi.

Three other cabs, parked in the same carpark, were also broken into. All had their side windows smashed.

The latest cases come in the wake of rising car thefts, which have risen to 465 cases in the first quarter, compared to 372 and 391 in the two previous quarters.

Anyone with information can contact the police at 1800-255-0000.
