Woman motorist charged with causing death

A MOTORIST was charged on Wednesday with negligently causing the death of an elderly Hougang resident at a pedestrian crossing.

Teo Quee Tin, 50, was driving a car along Hougang Avenue 9 on July 26 last year when she allegedly failed to keep a proper lookout and knocked down Madam Lim Kek Buay, 69.

Madam Lim died about two hours later.

Teo is released on $10,000 bail.

She will appear in court again on July 16.

If convicted, she faces a jail term of up to two years and/or a fine.
