KUALA TERENGGANU, MALAYSIA - Police are looking for a 22-year-old man from Kampung Tok Dir here, who escaped from police custody by biting one of the officers on the hand and fleeing the scene on Sunday evening.

In the incident, the man, who has three criminal records for molest and two intimidation cases, was taken by four policemen to a house in the village to assist in collecting evidence involving himself.

State police chief SAC I Sidin Abdul Karim said Muhammad Sudami Abd Ghani, who was handcuffed had led the police to a house at Kampung Tok Dir.

He then bit the hand of a policeman before jumping through a window and making a dash towards a nearby swamp in the 4.15pm incident.

Sidin said Muhammad Sudami, who was wearing a prisoner's orange uniform, had been on remand since July 1 at the Kuala Terengganu police station.
He asked those with information to contact the nearest police station and added that 100 policemen were already involved in the manhunt.
