Thief who got away jailed 10 years
Thu, Aug 07, 2008
The Straits Times

KAMARUDIN Abdul Hussin, 34, was jailed for 10 years with eight strokes of the cane on Thursday but he could consider himself lucky.

His accomplice in a burglary on June 20 is dead. Rahmat Latiff, 33, fell while trying to escape from a fifth-storey flat in Marsiling Crescent, when the flat-owner came home.

Both fled to the bedroom and clambered down to the parapet. Kamarudin managed to escape but Rahmat lost his balance and fell five stories down to his death.
