By Elena Chong, Courts Correspondent

A LORRY driver admitted on Friday to causing the death of an eight-year-old boy while reversing his vehicle along a service road in Simei.

Lim Poh Eng, 49, was driving along Simei Street 3 on May 22 last year when he did a rash act by failing to keep a proper lookout while reversing at a fast speed in a crowded area at the walkway between Simei MRT Station and East Point Shopping Mall.

His lorry hit Jadon Sim, a Changkat Primary School student, who was run over by the rear left wheel and stopped. Jadon was run over a second time when he drove the lorry forward.
