LORRY driver Lim Poh Eng, 49, is ready to go to jail if that would appease the parents of the eight-year-old student he had killed in May 2007.

'He realises nothing he can do or say will bring the boy back but he would like to seek the forgiveness of the boy's parents,' said his lawyer Lawrence Goh Eng Yau.

But District Judge Hamidah Ibrahim noted that Lim's attempt to pass some of the blame of the fatal accident to the boy who was killed was rather insensitive on his part.
