SUBANG JAYA, MALAYSIA - Two robbers escaped with RM200,000 worth of jewellery after they struck at goldsmith's shop at The Summit shopping complex in USJ.

In the daring crime, the two men, one armed with a pistol, dashed into the premises at 1.30pm yesterday and ordered workers to empty the trays of jewellery from the glass showcases into a bag.

Subang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Zainal Rashid said the shop's security guard did not open fire, as there were three customers inside.

He said the customers and some seven workers of the shop were not harmed.

"One of the robbers covered his face with handkerchief," he said when contacted yesterday.

Police are going through the CCTV recordings and have urged witnesses to assist in investigations.
