Son jailed for punching mum

AN UNEMPLOYED man who broke the right cheek bone of his mother was jailed for 12 months on Friday for causing grievous hurt.

Yew Kim Chuan, 30, admitted to breaking the cheek bone of Madam Chiang Yuet Lan, 58, at their Telok Blangah Crescent flat on Aug 3.

Yew has a previous conviction for breaching a personal protection order taken out by his mother.
