A Chinese man slashed and stabbed his lover violently, then threw her out of her Yishun flat at 12.30am on Friday. He then continued his attack on her daughter, and the mother and daughter who shared her flat.
The victims are believed to be Singapore PRs from China, and range in age from 15 to 40 years old. Multiple knife wounds were found on all the victims.
The man's lover was found at the bottom of the block of flats, while the other two were found at home covered in blood. The fourth victim, the flatmate's daughter, was seriously injured and on the brink of death when found. She was immediately rushed to Tan Tock Seng Hospital.
While she escaped death, the surviving victim is in critical condition and reportedly has an "L-shaped" scar on her face. The victim who fell to her death was stabbed on her head and abdomen.
The suspect is a 42-year-old Chinese man who was arrested at the scene of the murders. Police was informed that there was a woman's body lying at the foot of Block 349 Yishun Avenue 11 at 12.50am and arrived to investigate. They discovered blood stains on the door of a six-storey unit and knocked, but the occupants did not open the door.
The police had to force their way into the unit with the help of the civil defence where they discovered the suspect, two other bodies and the fourth victim. Police also found two bloodied knives, believed to be the murder weapons.
Even though he refused to open the door, the suspect was calm and collected and did not resist arrest. But according to Shin Min, he suddenly screamed as he was being led into the police car.

About two weeks back, their neighbours started hearing sounds of agitated arguments coming from the unit a few times a week. These could be very loud and passionate. They were also arguing the night before the murders.
On the night of the crime, a neighbour also heard the voices of a few women raised in argument. At around midnight, he heard the sound of furniture being thrown, and a man shouting, as though he was chopping something.
He tried to look into the unit but the lights were off. Gradually, the womens' cries softened, until he heard a 'thud' accompanied with a last cry from the falling victim.
Strangers near flat drove away hurriedly
An eye witness said that he saw a Chinese man pacing near their block just before the murders when he looked down from his unit. Following that, he heard the woman scream, and the men moving into the void deck.
Not long after, he heard a second scream, and the men ran out from the void deck. He then heard a "thud" and saw a woman's body lying motionless on the ground below. He then head a car speed away. He was not sure if the men were related to the murders.
