MALACCA, MALAYSIA - State Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs officers raided a company in Taman Melaka Raya believed to be involved in a scratch-and-win scam and seized goods worth over RM40,000.

The department's chief enforcement officer Abdul Hafidz Abdul Rahim said it shut down the operations of Nabinco Network Sdn Bhd following complaints from several victims.

The company was involved in direct selling scheme but had its licence revoked earlier this year.

"We received complains that it was still operating but using a scratch-and-win scheme to dupe victims," Abdul Hafidz told reporters.

He said several household items meant as gifts, paraphernalia and printed materials used in the scam were seized from the company.

Abdul Hafidz said officers also seized imitation branded clothing worth RM7,000 during a surprise check at the Bazaar Ramadan in Taman Cempaka last night.
