Fined for drink driving

THE owner of high-end Italian restaurant il Lido was fined a total of $8,600 and banned from driving for two years on Friday for drink driving, dangerous driving and abusing a police officer.

Giuseppe De Vito, 35, better known as Beppe De Vito, admitted to driving along Stamford and Beach Road junction when his blood alcohol level was 65mcg per 100 ml of breath on Jul 5 last year.

The legal limit is 35mcg per 100ml.
