Nair to begin jail term

FORMER Singaporean Lawyer Gopalan Nair, who is now a US citizen, surrendered himself on Saturday to the High Court to start his three-month long jail term, according to news reports.

Nair, 58, was sentenced to three months jail on Wednesday for insulting a High Court Judge in a blog post on May 29.

Nair had asked for a delay in his sentence to settle personal affairs.
