KUALA LUMPUR : Police have detained five construction workers -- all foreigners -- to assist in investigations into the murder of a Chinese national on Saturday night.
City CID chief Senior Assistant Commissioner II Ku Chin Wah said the suspects were in their 20s and early 30s.
The victim, Zou Xia Dong, 46, was found sprawled in a pool of blood on the 17th floor of the I-Zen Tiffini condominium, which is still under construction in Mont Kiara, about 10pm on Saturday.
She was the managing director of the company involved in the construction.
One of the company supervisors found the body when he went to look for her at the site, after failing to reach her on her mobile phone.
Ku said the victim had four wounds, believed to be caused by a blunt object, on her face and neck.
"We found two pieces of wood with bloodstains, believed to be the murder weapons, on the floor below the murder scene.
"We are investigating the motive for the murder," said Ku.
Zou's body was sent to the Kuala Lumpur Hospital mortuary for a post-mortem.
Police have contacted the Chinese embassy and are trying to get in touch with the deceased's next of kin.
Checks at the condominium revealed that it houses two blocks -- one 36 storeys high and the other 28 storeys.
