Helpful police officers abused and assaulted
Fri, Oct 03, 2008
The Straits Times

Ng Keng Leng, 44, who pleaded guilty to assaulting a police officer and to abusing another, was yesterday jailed six months and fined $2,000.

The court heard that the police received a call just after noon on Aug 20 this year about a man in a carpark near Block 574, Ang Mo Kio Avenue 10. On arrival 20 minutes later, one officer called for an ambulance while his partner asked Ng what was wrong.

The injured man hurled a Hokkien expletive at him. Warned against using abusive language, Ng charged at one of the officers and elbowed him in the chest. The two policemen then subdued and arrested him.
