AMERICAN airline company Delta Air Lines received a bomb threat e-mail sent from an Internet cafe in Pearl's Centre along Eu Tong Sen Street on September 10.

It spoke of a bomb which was to be planted on Delta Flight 1778 which was due to leave two days later from Atlanta, Georgia to Tampa, Florida in the United States.

The sender, who called himself 'Mr Islamic Jihad' claimed to be from terror organisation Al-Qaeda and even signed off his message with: 'Long live Al-Qaeda'.
