PETALING JAYA: A man who regularly preyed on his co-workers, especially after they received their monthly salary, was caught by police shortly after he robbed seven women of RM10,000.

The 25-year-old suspect and three accomplices entered the house where the Vietnamese women stayed in Jalan SS19/8 here at 8pm on Saturday shortly after they returned from work. The women had received their salary on Friday.

Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Arjunaidi Mohamed said the victims, aged between 20 and 30, were bound and gagged before the group, armed with knives, searched the two-storey terrace house for valuables.

"One of the women managed to escape by jumping out the window but sprained her ankle in the fall," he said.

"Her cries for help alerted neighbours who then called the police."

Police saw a man walking away from the house and approached him."Inside his sling bag, police found two knives, three cellphones and 10 passports. He was immediately detained," ACP Arjunaidi said.
