M'sian cop assaulted by 13 men

>KUALA TERENGGANU, MALAYSIA: A 50-year-old policeman sending a housewife to her home in Taman Medan Jaya in Rusila, Marang, was assaulted by 13 men when he stopped his car at a junction in Simpang Empat Kampung Tok Molor on Sunday.

Leading the assault in the 5.40pm incident was the woman's 54-year-old husband who had trailed the car from a shopping mall in Jalan Hiliran.

A villager alerted the police headquarters and a team of policemen rushed to the scene.

The main suspect, a civil servant, was detained while the victim was sent to Sultanah Nur Zahirah Hospital where he received six stitches for an injury on his head.
