MALAYSIA: AN 80-year-old longhouse chief in Sibu has been accused of raping a woman with Down Syndrome, reported Sin Chew Daily.

The headman was said to have raped the victim, in her 20s, three times within a week.

A villager who found out about the incident alerted the victim's mother to the rapes.

The victim was confirmed to have been raped after an examination at the Sibu Hospital.

She was alone at the longhouse when the alleged rapes took place.

Her mother was farming nearby while a younger brother was at school.

Her father and another brother are working in Kuala Lumpur.
