SEREMBAN, MALAYSIA: Police are expected to pick up a senior male teacher at a primary school here soon for allegedly molesting a male pupil over the past two years.

It is learnt that the teacher, who is in his early 40s had also been molesting other male pupils in the school.

State Education director Datuk Abdullah Mohammad confirmed receiving a report on the incidents from the district education office.

"My officers have also done their own investigations but I have yet to see the reports as I was attending a meeting in Putrajaya the whole day," he said when contacted.

Abdullah said he had advised the headmaster of the school to lodge a police report if he had reason to believe the teacher was involved in molesting his charges.

"Appropriate action will be taken which include calling in the police as we do not condone such behaviour," he said.

It is learnt that one of the pupils, who is now in Form 1, finally gathered the courage to report the matter to a policeman relative.

The boy said the male teacher had been harassing him over the past two years. It is understood that the molests occurred at the teacher's home.
