JAKARTA - INDONESIAN police said on Thursday they were looking for the 'sadistic' killer of a pregnant woman whose bruised body was found with her hands cut off.

'We have so far questioned eight people and will investigate more,' senior police officer Ramses Sianipar said, adding that the victim's husband and her 15-year-old stepson were among those questioned.

The body of the woman, who was three months pregnant, was found on Tuesday in a bamboo field not far from her house in Cibinong, West Java.

Bruises on her neck indicated she had been strangled. Her hands had been severed after she died, police said.

'Our preliminary investigation indicates that there might be some resentment behind this sadistic killing,' said Mr Sianipar. -- AFP
