Decomposed body found in river

KUANTAN, MALAYSIA: The decomposed body of a teenager was found floating in a river near Jalan Kuantan-Sungai Lembing here yesterday.

The neck and head were already rotting but the police found a wallet on the body.

It contained the identity card of Khairol Azley Ariffin, 19, from Kampung Sungai Pandan 2 near here.

A Honda EX5 motorcycle was also found at the river bank of Sungai Riau.

Civil Defence Department personnel recovered the body at 12.30pm and sent it to the hospital for a post-mortem.

Police are investigating the cause of death.
