Couple mugged by intruders

MARANG, MALAYSIA: Two masked men, one of them armed with a golok (sickle), entered a couple's house here on Sunday and robbed the wife of her gold necklace and bracelet worth RM2,300.

The robbers entered the kitchen by breaking the back door and confronted the 67-year-old housewife at 12.30pm.

The victim shouted for help but one of the them threatened her with the golok and at the same time, grabbed her gold necklace and bracelet.

State Criminal Investigation Department deputy chief Superintendent Khairi Ahrasa said the victim's husband, who tried to help, was pushed to the floor by the other man.
