JOHOR BARU, MALAYSIA - A couple suspected of being involved in a number of robberies were arrested while watching a pornographic DVD at their home.

Police seized several items, including 18 pornographic DVDs and weapons used in robberies, when they raided the house in Skudai at 2.50am last Thursday.

Johor police chief Deputy Comm Datuk Mohd Mokhtar Mohd Shariff said yesterday that the man, 23, and his 30-year-old wife are believed to have robbed houses in Nusajaya and Skudai on Sept 9 and Oct 30 respectively.

In an unrelated matter, three men working at a vehicle service centre were detained for allegedly selling stolen vehicle accessories at a higher price after buying the items from drug addicts.

The suspects, aged between 19 and 28, were also suspected to have trafficked drugs to the addicts in exchange for the stolen items.

They were nabbed when police raided the centre in Bandar Baru Permas, Masai, at 7.45pm on Friday.

DCP Mohd Mokhtar said police believed the suspects were also involved in murder and assault cases in Pasir Gudang.

He said that among the items seized were two cassette players, a CD changer, two amplifiers, two mobile phones and a parang.

He added that the police successes were due to continuous information from the public.
