IPOH, MALAYSIA - A part-time cashier at a petrol kiosk bled to death after two robbers slashed him when robbing the station in Jalan Kuala Kangsar here.
Ipoh OCPD Asst Comm Azisman Alias said the two robbers had gone to the petrol station with three others, all in their 20s and 30s, in a red Proton Iswara at 6.50am yesterday.
"They pumped petrol first. Two of them got off the vehicle - one to pump petrol, and we suspect the other to monitor the situation," he said.
After filling up, the five men drove to a parking bay outside the petrol kiosk mart. Two men got off the vehicle, said ACP Azisman.
"The two entered the shop holding parang and told the cashier to take out all the money from the cash register," he said.
The cashier, 42-year-old Mohd Khairuddin Mohd Isa, had been working part-time at the kiosk for two weeks.
"He was the only one behind the counter at the time. The other cashier was near the ATM in the mart and there were two petrol attendants outside," said ACP Azisman.
Although Mohd Khairuddin immediately took out the cash, the two robbers still slashed him repeatedly on his head and his hands, he said.
The other cashier, a female, had run out of the mart on seeing the men enter the shop with their weapons.
ACP Azisman said Mohd Khairuddin managed to walk to a chair to sit down but bled to death before the ambulance arrived.
