KUANTAN, MALAYSIA - A factory worker who pleaded guilty to two counts of raping his underage daughter has been sentenced to 51 years' jail and 40 strokes of the rotan.

Meanwhile, at a juvenile court nearby, his 17-year-old son also pleaded guilty to raping the same victim, but he will only know his fate on Jan 7.

The 37-year-old man, who is hearing impaired, admitted that he had committed the crime at their home in Lepar Utara factory house, near here, between 2am and 2.30am on March 16 last year.

He raped the girl again at the same place between 2am and 2.30m on Dec 15.

The victim, who is the second of eight siblings, was aged between 12 and 13 when the rapes occurred.

Sessions Court judge Ahmad Zamzani Mohd Zain sentenced him to 25 years' jail and 20 strokes of the rotan for the first offence and another 26 years' imprisonment and 20 strokes of the rotan for the second offence.

He ordered that the sentences run consecutively from the date of arrest on Nov 4.

At the juvenile court, the victim's eldest brother admitted that he had raped her between midnight and 12.30am on Sept 27.
