>NIBONG TEBAL, MALAYSIA: A restaurant owner escaped death when a gunman fired a shot at him outside his shop in Taman Permai, Sungai Bakap here at 5pm yesterday.

Luckily for Tan Chiew Way, 34, the bullet went through the glass panel of a stall outside the restaurant before it hit him on his right arm and rib.

He had just arrived at the restaurant with his family when they were attacked.
