Aussie newsman gets jail

AUSTRALIAN journalist Peter Gerard Lloyd, 42, was sentenced to 10 months' jail in a district court on Tuesday.

He had pleaded guilty to three charges of possession and consumption of the drug, methamphetamine or Ice, as well as the possession of drug utensils laced with the drug, Ketamine.

His lawyer Mr Hamidul Haq told the crowded court room that his client, a South Asian correspondent with the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, suffered from post traumatic stress disorder.
