MALACCA, MALAYSIA: Police are looking for three men to help in investigations into a case where a policeman was attacked by a group of men in Ayer Keroh.

State OCCI ACP Salehhudin Abd Rahman said the men were Gimi Abd Kahar @ Giant, 38, from Johor, Zulkilfli Rusli @ Zul Bulu, 33, and Mohd Farid Mohd Shuib, 32, both from Malacca.

ACP Salehhudin said the men could help shed more light on the case and hoped they would assist the police.

On Nov 22, off-duty constable Mohd Fairus Shafie was attacked by a group of men at about midnight after having supper with several friends at MITC.

The 22-year-old, who had been attached to the criminal investigation department here since February 2006, slipped into a coma after suffering serious head injuries.

Police subsequently arrested 18 people, aged 18 to 40, in a swoop around the city.

In a separate case, ACP Salehhudin said four women, believed to be foreigners, were arrested for vice.

He said the four, aged 21 to 34, were arrested in Bukit Baru and Plaza Pandan on Monday.

He added that three men, all in their late 30s, were also detained for questioning.
