Housewife forced to take poison dies

BATU PAHAT, MALAYSIA: A housewife who was forced to consume rat poison by her husband died at Hospital Kluang yesterday.

Kuan Chooi Yin, 27, died at 5am, nine days after her husband Lim Chu Kim, 34, forced her to take the poison.

Batu Pahat OCPD Asst Comm Ibrahim Aris said police were investigating the case for murder.

It is believed that Lim forced his wife to take the poison with him and threatened to harm their children if she did not comply.

Police believed Lim did so after he was questioned by his employer over RM13,000 allegedly found missing.
