GEORGE TOWN, MALAYSIA: Police arrested a woman on Friday and seized drugs and a pistol stored inside two deposit boxes during two separate raids at a financial institution here that were carried out on Friday and yesterday.

State police chief Datuk Ayub Yaakob said police raided the premises about 8.30pm on Friday and seized two packets of heroin with a market value of RM50,000.

He said the team also confiscated jewellery worth RM60,000 and detained the suspect, who was in her 20s, during the operation.

In a follow-up operation the next day, Ayub said the woman led them to the same premises, where they discovered an automatic pistol and cash totalling RM106,000 kept in a second deposit box.
